AC Composite Long-Rod Insulator

Composite long-rod insulators pair a fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) core with hydrophobic silicone-rubber sheds — a fraction of the weight of porcelain strings, with superior pollution performance. Silverstone supplies AC and DC long-rod designs plus anti-pollution porcelain disc, glass pin, epoxy resin and HDPE insulators for lines and substations.

Composite insulators generally outperform in wet pollution due to hydrophobicity; anti-pollution porcelain discs remain an option where utilities standardize on porcelain. Both are in our range.
